Rapid Test SureScreen Antigen - Covid 19

Covid Antigen diagnostic test 19 with saliva sample and nasopharynx

The new rapid detection test of Covid 19 antigen from the British company Surescreen changes the data and gives a new perspective to the early diagnosis of Covid 19 and the opportunity for an extensive test. It is offered simultaneously with 2 options (DUAL TEST) with a sample of saliva or nasopharynx, giving a result within 15 minutes, with 95% sensitivity.

**The product is not available in retail individuals. For more information contact Mr. Konstantinos Katsamoris at 2651085858 or via e-mail at kkatsamoris@newpharm.gr.

POSSIBILITY OF DETECTION AND MUTATION B117
A study in the UK by the Public Health Agency (PHE) in a reference laboratory confirmed the possibility of detecting the B117 "Kent" mutation ("VOC 202012/01") in isolated samples of the COVID-19 mutation from the rapid detection test antigen of the British company Surescreen with sensitivity to high viral loads 97.1% and specificity 99.9%.

WAY OF USE
In a very easy procedure, we take saliva from the examinee and place it in a test tube to which we add a special solution by mixing it. Then we take three drops of the mixture, place them in the special diagnostic case, waiting for the result within 15 minutes.

The saliva sample test, due to its convenience, may prove to be the best tool for reopening schools by conducting mass tests on all children.

The RAPID TESTS Rapid System (Point of Care) for SARS-CoV-2 antigen will have the following characteristics:
- Detects SARS-CoV-2 antigen
- Performed on a saliva sample or nasopharynx
-It has CE-IVD approval
-Results within 15 minutes
-Contains samples of positive and negative control
-It has clinical accuracy> 98% for SARS-CoV-2 compared to a molecular reference test.
-Has clinical sensitivity> 95% for SARS-CoV-2 compared to molecular reference test.
-It has clinical specificity> 99.9% for SARS-CoV-2
-In the indications of the result there is an indication of validity (control) of the execution of the test in addition to the indication for a positive negative
-Suitable for long-term storage at room temperature (5 to 30 degrees Celsius)
-The execution and completion of the test is done exclusively with equipment available in the kit and the results are visually read without accompanying equipment
-Multiple samples can be taken simultaneously and independently because it is easy to use by health professionals (such as doctors, nursing staff), in the logic of Point of Care Tests.

The nasopharyngeal sampling procedure used today is uncomfortable and unpleasant, involving the risk of infection of the healthcare professional taking the sample. The person being tested often has reflexes of rejection, involuntarily coughing, sneezing or even spitting at the health professional conducting the test while at the same time it is difficult, if not impossible, to sample children.

Rapid antigen diagnostic tests generally have two major advantages: they are fast and inexpensive.
** Antigen SureScreen Test adds another unique advantage, as it can be performed with saliva, avoiding unpleasant accidents.**

The double antigen diagnostic test of Covid 19 (Saliva & Nasopharynx) has European Certification and has secured the code EOF 2830000645875.

The double antigen tests with a selection of saliva sample or nasopharynx of the English company Surescreen are available in Greece and Cyprus from the company Newpharm A.E.

Sampling Procedure
As some people may have reduced saliva due to dry mouth, which may be a symptom of medication, mouth breathing, decreased fluid intake, or even a symptom of Covid 19 for more reliable results in detecting the Covid 19 antigen it is recommended such as saliva should be collected from the back of the neck instead of simply spitting.

Αdditional information for proper use

  1. Even if the result of a test is negative if there are symptoms, we recommend that the person be isolated until a repeat test is performed.

  2. Repeated or confirmatory tests should be performed at least 1 hour apart so that a possible viral load can be diagnosed.

  3. If there is an indication that a saliva test result is wrong, the repeat test should be done nasopharyngeally (at least 1 hour later).

  4. In the diagnosed positive molecular tests it is good to know the number of CT (magnification) cycles that have been diagnosed. Usually in diagnoses over 33 cycles the viral load is extremely low and is not contagious. As a precaution it is good to isolate someone who is being diagnosed because there is a small chance that he is at the beginning and there is the possibility of developing a viral load later.

  5. It is also recommended that the examinee's mouth be clean before the test and that the examinee has not eaten, drank (except water) or smoked for at least 15 minutes before the test.

To confirm the clarity of the sample the examinee may drink water before the test.
